GCP online training
International standards require a basic understanding of Good Clinical Practice. This is a prerequisite for anyone carrying out, or involved in, clinical research and clinical trials.
The definition from EU Directive 2001/20/EC, article 1, clause 2 states:
“Good clinical practice is a set of internationally recognized ethical and scientific quality requirements which must be observed for designing, conducting, recording and reporting clinical trials that involve the participation of human subjects.”
Good Clinical Practice guidelines include protection of human rights as a subject in clinical trial. They also provide assurance of the safety and efficacy of the newly developed compounds.
Good Clinical Practice Guidelines include standards on how clinical trials should be conducted; define the roles and responsibilities of clinical trial sponsors, clinical research investigators, and monitors (Clinical Research Associates).
Compliance with this good practice provides assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of trial subjects are protected, and that the results of the clinical trials are credible and accurate.
However, it is time consuming and expensive to attend classroom-based training courses, so Clinical Research Training has developed an online GCP course (and other related courses in clinical research) that allows for required training standards to be met. These courses are educational, fun and information providing all the necessary information about GCP.
Clinical Research Training courses are available online from anywhere in the world. They are also available around the clock. This means that you can get the necessary GCP training whenever you want and at whatever time you want.
Online GCP training means that you can study at your own pace and in your own time. Built into the online GCP training are methods to test your knowledge and understanding. On reaching the required standard, a certificate is issued demonstrating that you are compliant with the MHRA / FDA requirements and awards CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points.
Online GCP training is therefore relevant to:
- Investigators from hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and research institutes
- Clinical trials support staff (e.g staff working in contract research organisations)
- Research Nurses
- R&D staff involved in approving and monitoring clinical trials
- Members of ethics committees
- Graduates looking to develop a career in clinical research
